4 Sets of Questions to Answer in Every Fundraising Appeal
Do you need a simple framework for writing a fundraising appeal?
Here are 4 sets of questions to answer as you write:
01. Is the PROBLEM clear?
- What’s going on?
- Why is it happening?
02. Is the GOAL clear?
- What are you inviting people to help accomplish?
- For who?
- By when?
03. Is the CALL-TO-ACTION clear?
- Is it strong enough?
- Is it specific and direct?
- Is there only one?
- Is it easy to understand?
04. Is the sense of URGENCY clear?
- Why now?
- What’s at stake if someone doesn’t respond?
What difference does answering these 4 sets of questions make?
- If your PROBLEM is not clear, CARING is difficult.
- If your GOAL is not clear, MOTIVATION is difficult.
- If your CALL-TO-ACTION is not clear, RESPONDING is difficult.
- If your URGENCY is not clear, PRIORITIZING is difficult.
People want to help. Don’t make things difficult for them.
Easy always works better.
**Bonus points if you can answer these questions with a story.
