A simple test to improve your online giving experience.
Today’shashtag#FundraisingFriday is a guest post fromFaigy Gilder.
Here’s a simple but powerful test to help improve the giving experience at your nonprofit:
Donate $1 💸 to your own organization and write down every step of the process.
🔎 Where is the donate button on your website?
🔎 How many clicks until you get to checkout?
🔎 What are the payment options?
🔎 How many fields are there to fill out?
🔎 What are the copy and images on each page?
🔎 What do the confirmation page and email look like?
Now, aim to ✨eliminate friction✨ for your donors.
You can try this experiment from a few different entry points, such as an email or a social media profile.
Then, use your experience to edit the process:
🎯 Shorten the journey to conversion
🎯 Incorporate more payment options (no wallet needed!)
🎯 Add a clear checkbox to give automatically in the future
🎯 Freshen your copy and images along the way to show gratitude and impact
🎯 Harness the power of automation to segment the donor information and email them in the future
Once you make your edits, ask a board member or volunteer to donate $1 and report back.
Make more edits based on their feedback.
Experience and understand your donor journey regularly to improve your conversion rate.
