People don't give to organizations.

People don’t give to organizations.

They give:

✅ To causes they believe in.

✅ To people they know, like, and trust.

✅ To solve real problems.

✅ To make a difference.

No one cares about your history or how you were founded.

They don’t care about the awards you’ve won or your new logo.

Stop talking about your organization so much and start focusing on what really matters.

Talk about impact. People want to know how their support changes lives, solves problems, and makes the world a little better. They’re interested in the stories of people you’ve helped, not the story of your nonprofit.

Your theory of change? It’s not exciting to donors.

But the child who learned to read because of your literacy program? That will resonate.

Stop touting your efficiency ratios or your four-star charity rating. Instead, show the faces of the families who ate tonight because of someone’s generosity.

Donors don’t give to prop up your organization.

They give to be part of something meaningful, to make a real difference in a cause they care about deeply.

People invest in outcomes, not organizations.

Your role: Be the bridge that connects their passion with your mission and show them how they can create change.

Do that often enough, and you just might change the world.

Happy Friday Friends!
